The 30th Birthday Party Performance/ The Birthday Room Installation
The 30th Birthday Party was a performance as well as an installation, truth and at the same time farce.
The performance took place on the evening of my 30th Birthday, portions of the performance were pre-destined and portions were improvised.
The guests were played by authentic friends of mine, the gifts were provided as and cooresponding cards were provided as collaborative pieces by fine artists from abroad ( Canada, England, France).
The evening played out as a staged reality, an exaggerated truth.
The observers were invited to watch the party through two open doors into the Birthday Room, as well as on a projection on an exterior gallery wall.
The aftermath of the performance became an installation for the rest of the month in the gallery space.
