The 30th Birthday Party Performance/ The Birthday Room Installation
The 30th Birthday Party was a performance as well as an installation, truth and at the same time farce.
The performance took place on the evening of my 30th Birthday, portions of the performance were pre-destined and portions were improvised.
The guests were played by authentic friends of mine, the gifts and corresponding cards were provided as collaborative pieces by fine artists from abroad ( Canada, England, France).
The evening played out as a staged reality, an exaggerated truth.
The observers were invited to watch the party through two open doors into the Birthday Room, as well as on a projection on an exterior gallery wall.
The aftermath of the performance became an installation for the rest of the month in the gallery space.
